In-Vent® Positioning Wedge
with Internal Ventilation Cover System

Reusable positioning cushions are an important component of an effective program for preventing and treating pressure injuries or other medical conditions. Cushions with reusable covers help reduce cost and waste because they have a long lifespan and can be disinfected and reused from patient to patient.

The patented In-Vent® Internal Ventilation Cover System improves upon the concept of a reusable cover by eliminating stitched seams, zippers, and vents, which can allow fluid and airborne contamination to enter the cover. Although the cover is completely sealed, air is permitted to move in and out of the foam cushion as needed, so that all of the responsiveness, comfort, and pressure redistribution you require are available to the user. All of the air the cushion will ever need is sealed inside the cover during the manufacturing process.

The First Reusable Wedge with no stitching, zippers or vents

The In-Vent® Cover System is fitted with an inflatable air reservoir. When the cushion is at rest, the reservoir is empty. When the weight of the patient is positioned on the cushion,
air moves out of the foam cushion and is held in the air reservoir. When weight is removed, air flows back into the foam cushion.

The In-Vent® Wedge cover is made of durable, puncture and tear resistant polyurethane. All seams are fused together with high frequency welding, which leaves no holes or gaps where fluid or airborne contaminants can enter the cover.

30-Degree Shape for Consistent, Reliable Positioning

Guidelines recommend a side lying position of 30-degrees. The In-Vent® Positioning Wedge has a 30-degree shape and the symmetrical design helps the wedge to be held in place by the weight of the patient. The In-Vent® Wedge is also more user friendly because it can be used with either side facing up.

When weight is applied to the cushion, air is displaced from the foam support cushion and transferred into the reservoir. When the weight is removed, air returns to the foam support cushion.

When the In-Vent® Cover is at rest, the reservoir is deflated and flush with the primary cushion cover.
